Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date]
This policy explains what personal information Detailo collects, why, and what choices you have. Detailo is run by [Jacob's company] ("we", "us").
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email, password (stored encrypted, we can't see it) and login activity.
- Business details: business name, logo, town, service area, phone, public email, prices, hours, photos and settings you enter.
- Customer details detailers add or customers enter when booking: name, email, phone, vehicle, service address, notes, booking history and before/after photos.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive limited details such as payment status, amount and the last four digits of a card, never full card numbers.
- Device + usage information: basic logs (like IP address, browser type and errors) to keep the service secure and working, and your notification subscription if you turn on push notifications.
How we use it
- To run Detailo: show booking pages, take bookings, send confirmations, reminders, review and rebooking emails, and send detailers alerts.
- To bill detailers for their Detailo plan.
- To provide support, including viewing an account in support view when you ask for help.
- To keep Detailo safe, prevent fraud and fix problems.
- To write AI suggestions (posts, ads, names, prices) from the details you choose to send to the AI tool.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use customers' information to market to them ourselves. Emails to customers are sent on behalf of their detailer.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who only process data to run Detailo for us:
- Stripe: payments for bookings, tips and Detailo plans.
- Supabase: our database, logins and file storage.
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Anthropic: the AI that writes suggested posts and text. We send only what's needed for the request.
- Push services run by Apple, Google or Mozilla deliver notifications to your device.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (with notice to you).
How long we keep it
We keep account and business data, including customer lists and booking history, for as long as the account exists, even if a plan ends, so a detailer can restart and pick up where they left off. A detailer can ask us to delete their account and data at any time. We keep billing records as long as tax laws require.
Your choices + rights
- Detailers can view and edit their information in the app, and ask us for a copy or deletion by emailing [support email].
- Customers who want their information changed or deleted should contact the detailer they booked with. You can also email us and we'll pass the request on and help.
- You can turn off push notifications in the app or your phone's settings. Booking emails are part of the service; marketing emails (if we ever send them) will always have an unsubscribe link.
- Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have extra rights to know, correct or delete your information. Email us to use them; we won't treat you differently for asking.
Cookies + local storage
Detailo uses your browser's local storage to keep you logged in and remember small preferences. We don't use advertising cookies or sell browsing data. [Jacob: update this if you add analytics.]
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls that keep each business's data separate, and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password and tell us right away if you think your account was accessed without permission.
Children
Detailo isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. [Jacob: align with the account age in the Terms.]
Changes + contact
If we make important changes to this policy, we'll email detailers before they take effect. Questions or requests: [support email], [Jacob's company], [mailing address].
